Anchors Away!

And these are my other neighbors who are truly great at Halloween.
Every year, they build a Pirate Ship in their front yard.
Every.  Year.
The first Halloween we lived in this neighborhood, I thought they were adding a new front walkway.
Nope, it was a ship.
These pics really don't do it justice, it is quite the masterpiece!

G got to take a 'behind the scenes' tour of the ship over the weekend,
he's a little bit in love with it.

Outta Control

I've said many times that I'm just not good at Halloween.
....but this neighbor of mine is GREAT at Halloween!
He has ghosts and goblins in every nook and cranny of his yard, porch, and even inside his home.
He gets it!

Are ya spooked yet?

Aaaarrrggghhh!

My little pumpkin decided at the very last minute that he wanted to be a pirate for Saturday's Halloween party.
I wasn't prepared to be a pirate since we'd decided that he would be a fireman.
In the final seconds, I threw together my very best
"Pirates of the Caribbean."

Take that, Johnny Depp!

To The Rock

Over the weekend, we took a little trip up to the mountains.
G rode on the scary ghost train and LOVED it!!
I really didn't get too many pics, so these few will have to do.

Garden Tour

NOLA's Garden District is always a must when we visit -
here's proof that even the sidewalks are pretty.

A Little Behind

Ok, so I'm a little behind on this, but here's a pic from G's school orientation.
I've started making "Orientation Day Pictures" to mark the changes each year instead of "First Day of School" -
there are no lunches to pack.  ;-)

I Love Perch.

I just love this store.

Ok, so things were a little jumbled up because they were getting ready to paint,
but you still get the picture.

Julie Neill Fabulous

On our recent jaunt to New Orleans, we had to pay homage to the Julie Neill brick and mortar,
(since we'd only seen our porch lights via internet before ordering)
and I'm SO glad we did!
While internet sites are awesome, there's just something about being in the real deal.

Don't ya just love it?

When The Saints Go Marching Out

So, we've just returned from another great trip to New Orleans.
Love, love, love!
Our vacation was cut a little short by a silly little hurricane, but history has proven that NOLA isn't a great place to be stuck in a storm.
When I heard the Saints were leaving a day early for their game in Chicago,
I decided that we needed to do the same.
The Saints got out and so did we!

However, we still had plenty of time to hit all our hot spots,
this stroll through the Garden District included.
